Ninjutsu (忍術)
At Tenchu Combat Concepts (天誅戦闘概念) we teach traditional Ninjutsu that comes from the Takamatsuden (Takamatsu Toshitsugu - 33rd Grandmaster Of Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu).
This means we focus on the Ku Ryuha (9 schools) of that comprise the main body of the Takamatsuden such as:
Togakure Ryū Ninpō
Gyokko Ryū Kosshijutsu
Kotō Ryū Koppojutsu
Shinden Fudō Ryū Dakentaijutsu
Kukishin Ryū Happō Bikenjutsu
Takagi Yōshin Ryū Jūtaijutsu
Gikan Ryū Koppojutsu
Gyokushin Ryū Ninpō
Kumogakure Ryū Ninpō
Due to the historical lineage of Ninjutsu we also teach a wide variety of traditional Japanese weapons (Buki), Hidden Weapons (Kakushi Buki) and traditional tools of the Ninja (Shinobi Kaki).
We also teach the use of live blades (Shinken Nihontō) at the advanced stages of training and practice Tameshigiri (Test Cutting) on Tatami Omote (Straw Mats) and Suemonogiri (Test Cutting Freestanding Targets) in the Dojo (School).
One of our major specialisations is Shurikenjutsu (流手裏剣術) or the art of throwing hidden hand blades, or to put it another way knife, spike and star throwing). We specialise in teaching the no reload no spin technique and the no reload half spin technique meaning out students can throw three knives from each hand in succession at the more advanced stages of training. Because this a major focus of Tenchu Combat Concepts (天誅戦闘概念) we run a separate throwing club called Tenchu Ryu Shurikenjutsu (天誅流手裏剣術) and also have a book available explaining the art both on this website and on Amazon.

Combatives
Combatives is the modern application of reality based self defence (RBSD) taking the most practical techniques from traditional martial arts and applying them from a tactical perspective to be used by civilians, law enforcement and military personnel alike.
Combatives was pioneered by W.E Fairbairn during his travels is Shanghai in the municipal police and from direct experience of combat during World War 2. Today you can find his arts pioneered by martial artists in the UK such as Tommy Joe Moore who is an exceptional instructor in this area.
Because soldiers did not have years to train in traditional martial arts W.E Fairbairn took what worked and for rid of what didn't and documented his experiences of live combat to compress and formulate combat systems that could be transmitted quickly whilst being extremely effective in combat when used by the soldiers taught is simply by remembering some simple principles and targets.
A prime example being utilising western boxing techniques into the utilisation of the Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife with simple principles such as hands, eyes ,throat which could be easily remembered by pretty much any soldier.
In modern times you find the American Military also has it's own Combatives programme known as the M.A.C.P (Modern Army Combatives Programme).
Whilst many of the principles are much the same as Fairbairn material with some more submission and ground fighting from BJJ, The M.A.C.P gives soldiers the ability to test their skills by sparring and competing in modern military competitions, making the soldiers more competent with full contact CQC (Close Quarters Combat).
A large part of Combatives is full on offensive and aggressive application of techniques, scenario based training, the use of EDC (Every Day Carry) tools, firearms training in multiple platforms, NSP's, WHT, Firearms Drills, Knife Fighting, Emergency First Aid and much more!
Some people describe Combatives as the anti martial arts but at Tenchu Combat Concepts (天誅戦闘概念) we firmly believe having a solid foundation in traditional martial arts makes you a far better Combatives practitioner overall.
