Dojo Books

Tenchu Combat Concepts 天誅戦闘概念 is the primary syllabus for the fundamental training of the adult students in our system.

All training and ranks awarded are according to performing the techniques outlined to the required standard of proficiency.

This is a clear path to black belt but mastery will take many hours of training and years of practice.

Once you understand the Tenchu Ryu Ninjutsu syllabus we then work on the advanced training and realistic application of everything learned.

Dont misunderstand me, although this is our fundamental training, it does not mean that its easy, you have 300+ pages of techniques to work through to fully understand our art.

We often say to the students that achieving black belt is just reaching the base of the mountain and that there is always further study to do because its true!

In our main syllabus we guide you from Mu Kyu (White Belt) all the way up to Hachi Dan (8th Dan) and we specifically wrote this syllabus to help the students process and understand the vast amounts of information in a structured way.

Below are a few of the techniques included in the syllabus:

  • Junan Taiso - Stretching
  • Tanren - Fitness
  • Ukemi - Breakfalls
  • Kaiten - Rolls
  • Oten - Cartwheels
  • Atemi - Striking
  • Keri - Kicks
  • Kata - Forms
  • Nage - Throws
  • Koppojustu - Joint Locks
  • Kyusho - Vital Targets
  • Shime Waza - Chokes
  • Suitemi - Sacrificial Throws
  • Suwari Gata - Kneeling Techniques
  • Nage Kaeshi - Throw Counters
  • Buki Waza - Weapons Training

And so much more!

This is the core syllabus for the Tenchu Combat Concepts Dojo as previously mentioned so above all else you need this one!

You can purchase a copy at a discounted price directly from the dojo or pay a high premium to purchase it directly from Amazon (They pay terrible royalties).

Often you get this book as part of your membership package but inevitably you will need to replace it if you are dedicated to training as they get worn out being used for reference on the mats.

The Tenchu Combat Concepts Shadow Warriors Training Manual was written by Sensei Jamie Seal to guide the younger students of the dojo through the foundational levels of training in Ninjutsu.

Tenchu Ryu Shurikenjutsu is our book on the art of throwing spikes (Bo Shuriken), knives (Tanto Gata) and axes (Masakari).

It outlines all of the essential health and safety for running Shurikenjutsu ranges within the UK and also has lots of information about our standard throwing equipment and uniform.

Tenchu Ryu Shurikenjutsu also covers the 3 fundamental throwing styles and a variety of techniques from Togakure Ryu Ninjutsu and western knife and axe throwing.

We cover:

  • Rotation Throwing
  • Half Spin
  • No Reload Half Spin
  • No Spin
  • No Reload No Spin
  • Correct Distancing
  • Knife Trajectory
  • Various Throwing Tactics
  • Instructor Certification Guidelines

This book has pretty much everything you need to know about our throwing system but it takes a lot practice to become proficient.

You can also only certify as one of our instructors directly with us at the Hombu Dojo for quality control and safety. We do not offer online training for Shurikenjutsu Instructors.

You can also get the Tenchu Ryu Shurikenjutsu book directly from the dojo at a discounted price or pay a premium to purchase it on Amazon.

Tenchu Combat Concepts Weapons Waza looks at the Buki Waza (Warrior Tools Forms a.k.a Weapons Training).

It covers all of the fundamental weapons of our art, Not all of them though as we teach a lot between the different arts this is primarily focused on the Japanese Weapons Systems from Tenchu Ryu Ninjutsu.

This is primarily for the higher ranking students focused on the weapons systems in the Dan grades who don't want tp have to wade through the main syllabus and it also includes the Kamae (Stance) charts for all the weapons to give the student a clearer picture of whats expected of them.

This is supplimentary to the main system and used for nailing your Kamae names and learning the Waza its a very useful book.

The Weapons Waza Book looks at:

  • Nunchaku
  • Hanbo
  • Wakizashi/Shoto
  • Kusarifundo
  • Metsubishi
  • Bojutsu
  • Sojutsu
  • Naginatajutsu
  • Tantojutsu
  • Kunaijutsu
  • Juttejutsu
  • Tessenjutsu
  • Shurikenjutsu
  • Kenjutsu
  • Jojutsu

We are working on releasing a book focused on the art of Kamajutsu and a quite a few other systems so watch this space for more releases.

You can get a copy directly from the dojo at a discounted price or pay a heavy premium and order directly on Amazon.
