The Sokuto-ki (息討器), also known as Suna Teppo (sand gun), is a small, concealed, hand held device used by Edo period Japanese samurai and police to subdue opponents by blowing blinding powder (ash, salt, or pepper) into their eyes. Often carried on the obi, it functioned as a "breath strike" blinding weapon, similar to a 16th-century Mace spray.
Custom made in house according to traditional specifications enabling maximum dispersal of metsubishi.
